For some, Bear Mountain is a nice little ski resort nestled in the mountains of California, but more relevant here, Bear Mountain is a new and quickly rising foursome from Vancouver. The foursome is a electro-dance band that carefully and creative create some of the best tunes I’ve heard this year.
You might remember their infectious tune “Congo” (read more and listen). With Portugal. The Man releasing their new LP, Evil Friends, just recently, we’ve been seeing a few remixes trickle in. You might have caught Jake One and Danny Brown’s take on the track, but today we’ve got something completely different.
Bear Mountain takes the original, chops it up, bakes it in the sun for about four minutes and boom! We’ve got a nice little tropical remix for “Purple Yellow Red & Blue”. You’re going to wish you were in the Bahamas with this one. Behind the beat we’ve got some bongo drums to compliment the deep bass kicks. What sounds like steel drums creates an undeniable melody that is perfect for you hot afternoon.
